Meeting Speakers:

Topic: An Interactive Discussion: Developing an Uncertainty Budget. Step 1
Speaker: Harry Spinks, TechTrology LLC

Abstract:
Uncertainty budgets can be overwhelming if considered as a whole. Where do you even start? As part of this interactive discussion, Harry will facilitate a discussion on the first step in developing an uncertainty budget, determining which factors to consider. Attendees will get to offer their insight and perspective into what factors will contribute to the calibration’s uncertainty and which warrant further analysis.

Topic: Scopes of Accreditation - Beyond the CMC
Speaker:
Corey Garbers, 3M Facilities and Services Plant Engineering Metrology Services

Abstract:
A discussion into what lies beyond the uncertainty analysis and budget. Once a calibration lab has developed its scope of accreditation and determined its calibration and measurement capability (CMC)…where does it go from there?

Topic: Environmental Health & Safety in the Laboratory
Speaker: Dave Kreitlow from MTS Systems Corporation

Abstract:
An opportunity to share best practices and lessons learned related to safety when performing calibrations in the lab and on-site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their company’s safety requirements to share.

Topic:  Oxidation, Contamination, and Automation for High Temperature Verification of Thermocouples
Speaker: Mike Imholte, Boston Scientific Corp.

Abstract:
A sneak preview into one of the upcoming presentations from the 2018 NCSLI annual conference. Mike will review different concepts requiring consideration when performing high temperature verification of thermocouples.
