Meeting Speakers:

Topic: When is it Important to Utilize and Record Temperature and Humidity?
Speaker: Dustin Amundson, Abbott

Abstract:
A discussion on when to record environmental conditions on the calibration history report.

Topic: Risk Management for Laboratory Weighing Operations
Speaker: Mark Ruefenacht, Rice Lake Weighing Systems

Abstract:
ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requires the accredited laboratory to plan and implement risk actions that prevent “bad” measurement results or broken chains of metrological traceability. This workshop will provide risk identification and mitigation techniques for users of weighing instruments (e.g., balances and scales) in pharmaceutical, bio-analytical, forensic, and other types of laboratories. Using your notes and handouts you will have a practical approach to risk management of weighing measurements that can be easily implemented into your quality management system and laboratory operations and meet the new requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Questions and application discussions is encouraged.

Topic: IR Thermometry Uncertainties - Theory and Practical Considerations
Speaker: Frank Liebmann, Fluke Calibration

Abstract:
This presentation gives a good foundation for estimating infrared thermometer calibration uncertainty. Evaluation for each of the uncertainties in an infrared thermometer calibration uncertainty analysis will be covered as presented in ASTM E2847. A complete uncertainty analysis will be calculated. In addition to the thermotical presentation, practical exercises will be presented with equipment used for infrared thermometer calibration.
