Meeting Overview:  
The Central Indiana Section will host a meeting with the themes of Traceability and Risk Management and Torque Calibration. The Central Indiana Section conducts two day-long meetings per year. Meeting themes are selected to meet the needs and interests of pharmaceutical, automotive, aviation and calibration providers in the area.

Topic: Essentials of Traceability and RISK Management

Abstract:

This session will present the definitions, interpretations, international perspectives of metrological traceability.  It will touch on the ILAC policies regarding traceability, agreements among Accreditation Bodies, the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement among National Metrology Institutes and the Key Comparison Database (KCDB).  It will also address the essential elements of metrological traceability and use an interactive approach to discussing risks and gaps if essential elements are missing.

Learning Objectives: 

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. DESCRIBE why traceability matters
  2. IDENITIFY roles of international and national participants 
  3. IDENTIFY source(s) for and PARAPHRASE Definitions of traceability
  4. LIST and DESCRIBE Seven Essential Elements and related Risks
  5. Be able to Apply Concepts and ASSESS Measurements
