Meeting Overview: 
The Central Indiana Section will host a meeting with the themes of CMM programming, updates to the standard ISO/IEC 17025 and understanding the local Scale business. The Central Indiana Section conducts two day-long meetings per year. Meeting themes are selected to meet the needs and interests of pharmaceutical, automotive, aviation and calibration providers in the area.

Topic: Introduction to Zeiss’ Calypso Software for Coordinate Measuring Machines
Speaker: Joe Fuehne, PhD, PE, Director and Associate Professor, Purdue Polytechnic Columbus

Abstract: Participants will run the Calypso software to develop a measurement plan and then simulate that plan using the simulator within the software. This will be a brief introduction to the software and is not intended to replace detailed Calypso training. Certain aspects common to all CMM use such as defining a coordinate system, identifying which tolerances to inspect, determining the path of the probe, and interpreting the results are covered. 

Topic: Updates to the international Standard ISO17025

Abstract: The presentation is designed to provide a brief overview of the revision to ISO/IEC 17025, including the process by which the standard is revised, the timeline of the process, the main sections within the standard, and the next steps in the revision process.

Topic: Scales and Balances Business in Indiana
Speakers: Kirk Eggebrecht, Brad Robley, Kathy Kerner, Indianapolis Scale Company, Inc, River Region Scale Company, LLC

Abstract: The Scales and Balances business in Indiana include a wide range of applications. Examples range from Pharmaceutical balances to railroad scales. The operating environment can range from ultra clean rooms to pig feeding lots. Many real life examples will be given to include installations, applications and maintenance. Also discussed will be the differences of commercial weighing and legal metrology.
