Quality Assurance (Ontario College Certificate)
This part-time program would be of interest to people employed in quality engineering functions - quality control and quality assurance, receiving and in-process inspection, and to co-ordinate measuring machine operators, manufacturing technicians and technologists. Topics in quality control and assurance are covered in depth and in a practical and realistic manner. On completion of the program, the graduate will be able to apply the proper techniques and procedures to solve practical manufacturing problems with respect to quality. Graduates will receive a College Certificate which is recognized by industry. This certificate will help in preparing to write the American Society of Quality's certification examinations such as Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), once qualified work experience is obtained.

Professional Undergraduate Degree in Sensors, Instrumentation, Metrology (CIM)
The professional Undergraduate Degree in Sensors – Instrumentation – Metrology, available in the Physical Measurements Department of Reims’ University Institute of Technology (IUT) aims at providing students with the scientific necessary skills to create an instrumentation line, from selecting sensors, to finally analysing and processing the obtained measures. The Degree is meeting the needs that companies have to fully control test procedures when it comes to quality. This requires the possibility to rely on the available tools and have a thorough knowledge in metrology.

BEng in Precision Engineering and Design
Precision engineering is a specialist branch of mechanical engineering which involves the design and manufacture of complex products, machines, tools and instruments, whose parts must be precisely correct in size and shape, have exceptionally tight tolerances and be produced repeatedly to exact specifications. Precision engineering is often defined as having an accuracy of1x106 - that’s one millionth of a metre, or 1 micron.
The manufacturing companies that now operate in Ireland typically design and make sophisticated products, almost always in very large quantities and with high level of precision.
This Precision Engineering programme will focus on:
- Precision Design – product, mould, tool and machine design
- Computer Aided Manufacture – CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming & machining
- Advanced Manufacturing Technologies – automation, polymer processing, materials
- Metrology – Precision measurement and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Manufacturing Requirements – validation, quality management, lean manufacturing and project management
