Meeting Overview
The NCSLI Central Region, Gulf Coast Section is conducting a Gulf Coast Section meeting in Baton Rouge, LA on May 30, 2019. The meeting will be held at the JM Test Systems campus and facility . This meeting is open to all Gulf Coast Section members and non members. We are excited to present to you, speakers such as Scott Crone from Ametek, Wayne Denley from Central Louisiana Economic Development Alliance, Mark Price from JM Test Systems, Brent Condie from FLIR, and Darrell Pinckard from RKI Instruments. These professionals will be presenting information on O&G measurement systems and applications, Digital and analog pressure testing, Gas detection technologies, Fiber technology application, Temperature measurements applications, RF and wireless communications applications, and Education for future workforce. Abstract: This presentation will provide an overview of the differences between deadweight testers and digital pressure calibrators. There will be application information included as well as a discussion of corrections, specifications, site effects, proper use, and instrument selection.

Abstract: Fiber Optic fibers are replacing copper wires in much of the telecommunications world. This presentation is from the viewpoint of the technician who calibrates fiber optics test equipment. It will cover the number one problem seen in fiber optics test equipment, and what to do about it. It will also illustrate procedures in the calibration of the two main types of test equipment used by fiber optics installers and maintainers – the Optical Light Test Set, and the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer.
