NCSLI Michigan Section (1135)

Meeting Overview:
The NCSL International Michigan Section 1135 Spring Meeting will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at the Teledyne LeCroy Automotive Solution Group in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Please come out and join us for technical discussion of applying the science of measurement during the use of Digital Storage Oscilloscope as intended for R & D and the discussion of how to select the right pressure sensor for your application. This event will also allow an opportunity to network with fellow associates within the industry and is free to attend.
Meeting Speakers:

Topic: Measurement Science Applied to Digital Storage Oscilloscopes Outside of Calibration Lab
Speaker: David VanKainen, Superior Measurement Solutions, Inc.

Abstract: Once commonly used “for reference only”, modern electrical/electromechanical product design coupled with more stringent IEEE/IEC/EMC quality standards has led to a RELIANCE on the use of Digital Storage Oscilloscopes. This presentation focuses on applying the science of measurements (signal integrity) during the use of the DSO as intended from R&D through Validation of sophisticated electronic products. The point of maintaining traceable calibrations of instrumentation become moot should the actual use of said instrument in practice violate sound measurement principles.

Topic: How to Select the Right Pressure Sensor for an Application
Speaker: Stephen Sajben, GE Druck
Abstract: Fundamentals of Pressure Sensor Technology, Performance Considerations, Environmental Considerations, Current Trends and Future Developments.
