Meeting Overview:
This is the first of two NCSLI LA/Orange County Section (1422) meetings scheduled for this year and will bring emphasis to the metrology/validation needs of the Healthcare Industry. Topics that will be presented will include: Process and Calibration Automation and an Introduction to Metrology.Net; Latest Development All-In-One Temperature Datalogging, Thermocouple Calibration and 8.5 Digit DMM; Portable Temperature/Humidity Chamber Applications in the Healthcare Industry; and the Impact of In-Situ Conductivity Measurements on Real Time Release Testing. Highlight of the meeting will be a tour of Amgen Metrology (NIST West) and a side trip tour of Micro Quality Calibration's Laboratory in Chatsworth, CA.

Topic: Common Considerations for Temperature Measurements & Calibrations
Speaker: Jon Sanders, Additel
Abstract: Temperature measurement is one of the most widely measured parameters in the world. There are many different temperature types and methods to measure and test these sensors. This presentation will consider some of the more common temperature measurement sensor types and various thermometry technologies to measure these sensors. It will also be presented various temperature calibration considerations and techniques for each sensor type.

Topic: Portable Temp/Humidity Chambers - Applications to the Healthcare Industry

Abstract: Current status on applications of temp/humidity chambers in the healthcare Industry; What’s in development and its impact on the Healthcare Industry; Practical examples of applications using the GEO 2000SP and the recently developed 4000EXP; Demo: Chamber topology validation using the Ellab ValPro. Abstract: The importance of temp/humidity chambers and some practical applications related to the Healthcare Industry particularly in;

Topic: Feasibility and Viability of Real-Time-Release Testing of WFI

Abstract: Proven methods in the in-situ testing of Conductivity; What is RTRT of WFI based on the TOC attribute? ASTM E2656 and PAT/FDA; Practical example of where it works and $$ savings.

Los Angeles/Orange County Section Meeting, Wednesday December 5, 2018
The Los Angeles/Orange County Section 1422 meeting was held on December 5, 2018 at International Accreditation Service (IAS) in Brea, California. A total of 26 participants were in attendance. This event covered a range of topics relating to measurement applications and solutions, evaluation of uncertainties, and the new ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

Los Angeles/Orange County Section Meeting, Tuesday August 9, 2016
The NCSL International LA/Orange County section meeting was held on August 9, 2016 at Keysight Technologies in El Segundo, California. There were a total of 50 participants in attendance for the meeting. This particular meeting covered a range of topics related to improving uncertainty and automation of measurements. Tours of the Keysight laboratories were conducted throughout the meeting as well.
