Abstract: The 164 panel session will present updates on the progress made by the 164 Metrology Education and Training Outreach Committee. NCSLI initially chartered Metrology Education and Training Outreach activities as a sub-committee (164.1) under Education Liaison. Now Metrology Education and Training Outreach is a full committee. The charter and objectives will be presented along with 2008 short range plan selected for maximum impact.

The panel session will include updates on the following activities:

- Outreach Collaboration (Liaison) Project

- Creation of an interactive multimedia outreach product for Metrology careers (DVD/Resources)

- Continious NCSLI Section Coordinator outreach training

- Web-based internship posting opportunities

- Assembly of Metrology ambassador tool kits and lesson plans

- Improve internship awareness with Metrology organizations and students
