Abstract: The NCSLI Benchmarking Committee Chairman will lead a discussion to review and understand the results of the 2008 NCSLI Benchmarking Survey. The intent of the survey is to provide NCSLI members with high quality data for use as a documented resource to baseline personnel compensation, industry compliance, laboratory performance, and continuous improvement objectives that apply across the metrology industry – worldwide.

The 2007 NCSLI Benchmarking Survey consisted of four sections: Demographics, Productivity, Requirements/Compliance, and Personnel. In 2007, an effort was made to reduce the amount of time needed to complete the survey process which resulted in limiting the number of questions in the Productivity section. This year a more in depth approach is being taken to cover the full Productivity section as well as the Demographics section. As usual, the survey continues to be further refined to offer increased clarity and data resolution.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to directly review the survey results with members of the Benchmarking Committee, as well as your NCSLI peers. There will be new metrics and charts added as a result of member feedback from prior presentations and discussions. Your feedback from this session will be used to improve future surveys.
