Abstract: Golf is a very popular sport today with a very interesting increasing practice rate in several countries all over the world. Modern life requires better attention to the physical activity and executives are no more the major golf practisers in most countries. As most of other sports it is a very competitive one and golfers try all the time to improve their performance. Consistency is the most important characteristic to keep competitiveness at a good level. The reasons for loosing consistency are always an unsolved mystery most of the time reported as a consequence of external factors from the environment or attributed to the moment psychological conditions of the player. The major tool for this effort in a consistent way is practicing in the driving range with professional advice by someone of his confidence and who enjoy learning with. Another tool is the self collection of systematic data about his performance on the course. There are some tools available on the market one can download to help on this effort. Others are online providing benchmarking with best performance golfers. The author making use of his metrological background and as engineer and golf lover develops this theme proposing a new insight look, encouraging metrologists to look on this activity not only for leisure and pleasure but also as a new campus for developing new tools for measuring performance.
