Abstract:

APLAC operates regional interlaboratory comparison (ILC) programs organized by the APLAC member bodies. In these years, participation to APLAC regional ILC programs has been open to other regional bodies such as EA (European Cooperation for Accreditation) and IAAC (InterAmerican Accreditation Cooperation), and other unaffiliated accreditation bodies. Due to this extension, consistency of competency for calibration laboratories and their metrological traceability to SI among regions can be examined and confirmed as well as the ones among accredited calibration laboratories within the region by APLAC proficiency testing program. Therefore, APLAC ILC programs are now, as international interlaboratory comparison programs at accredited calibration laboratory level, playing an important role for creating mutual confidence for accepting calibration certificate produced by foreign accredited calibration laboratories. At the presentation, the results of APLAC ILC Program for Gauge Block Calibration organized by IAJapan (APLAC M018) will be overviewed, and the consistency of measurement uncertainty and metrological traceability for gauge block calibration will be examined within the region and among regions.
