This session will explore diverse approaches to the transformation of USMS information, outputs, and methodologies into positive action. Industry has used the USMS process to inform its strategic decision making processes; prioritize its measurement concerns; and develop measurement solutions. The military has incorporated USMS concepts within its strategic planning. Foreign entities have leveraged USMS concepts in the definition of assessment methodologies and strategic planning for metrology for their own nations. This set of presentations will address some of these approaches and results. The session will end with an interactive presentation that will bring together some of the overall key points in a form that may be applied to the needs of NCSLI members. It will also provide an opportunity for open discussion of the USMS approach for collecting and addressing measurement needs in the global environment.
