Utilities Metrology Committee

Committee Charter
Establish liaison between laboratory managers throughout the utility industry to examine areas of mutual concern. Through discussions, papers, workshops, and contributions from NIST and other sections of the metrology community, develop recommended practices and guidelines that will enable utility laboratory managers to operate their facilities more efficiently. To stay abreast of new equipment development to enhance public awareness and respect for precision metrology in ultimate customer service.
2013 - 2014 Goals
  1. Continue to foster a strong relationship with the Nuclear Energy Standards Coordination Collaborative (NESCC)
  2. Establish liaison with the ILC Committee to help validate the Utilities inter-comparisons
  3. Establish a 3 to 5 year plan for ILC’s
  4. Write articles for Metrologist regarding activities and ILCs
  5. Develop and implement continuing training for committee members at the local level
  6. Continue education outreach to local high schools and colleges
