Measurement Requirements Committee

Committee Charter
Determine measurement requirements in terms of service provided and physical quantity where range, accuracy or operation conditions are beyond the current measuring requirements, several years in advance wherever possible. Report findings to NCSL International and to designated National Metrology Institutes as appropriate for those measurements requiring national standards or centralized compatibility of measuring capability. The Vice President of Measurement Requirements and Analysisis the official point of contact to the Board of Directors for the Measurement Requirements Committee. 
2013-2014 Goals
  1. Develop new methodologies for assessing the measurement requirements for NCSLI members and stakeholders;
  2. Strengthen the measurement infrastructure of the United States by identifying near-term and long-term measurement requirements and by facilitating operable solutions;
  3. Provide a forum to obtaining inputs from the membership of their metrology requirements such as; basic and advance measurements, documentary standards, laboratory, educations, accreditation, human resources, or other needs; and
  4. A Measurement Requirements Annual Report will be produced from the NCSLI membership inputs. The report will be shared with the NCSLI membership at the NCSLI conference. The report will also be made available on NCSLI Website.
