Committee Charter
Serve as a forum for the dimensional metrology industry focusing on measurement concerns:

  • Identify measurement requirements, techniques, knowledge and efforts.
  • Develop technical sessions for annual NCSLI Conference.
  • Ensure existing and future NCSLI Recommended Practices accommodate industry.
  • Introduce dimensional metrology committee activities to the dimensional metrology manufacturing and measurement community.
  • Develop documents, tutorials, and other materials to communicate measurement integrity.
  • Interface with other dimensional metrology standards bodies.
2013 - 2014 Goals
  1. Organize five technical sessions, two tutorials, and an informative committee meeting during the NCSLI Workshop & Symposium in August 2013
  2. Continue liaison with ASME B89 and ISO TC213 on the development of metrology standards. Submit committee reports to ASME B89 meetings in May and October. Report on ASME and ISO standards activities during committee meeting in August
  3. By end of 2013, begin to utilize NCSLI website to manage committee membership, post meeting information, and latest standards news from ASME and ISO.
  4. By end of 2013, complete a Recommended Practice (RP) in Dimensional Calibration that will help bring uniformity in calibration methods and representation on scopes of accreditation.
