Metrologist Kits

NCSL International recognizes the need for a new generation of technicians, engineers and scientists in the calibration/metrology community.   Metrology Ambassador is the title given to someone willing to go into the community and make a connection in an effort to excite and inspire young people to pursue further education in the technical sciences.  One way to accomplish this is through an outreach event where you visit a local school or organization and involve the children in scientific experimentation.

To assist you with your outreach event NCSLI has purchased a variety of sensors and several data collection units from Vernier Software & Technology.  The LabQuest data collection units are hand-held devices with a touch screen display and six sensor port connections.  We recently added a microphone to Kit # 5.

NEW! Two new kits have been added:

Dimensional Metrology – Calipers, Kit # 8, contains 11 digital calipers, 30 serialized wood cylinders, 2 gage blocks, a pair of gloves (for handling the gage blocks) and a CD with sample MS PowerPoint presentations and other electronic resources.

Michelson Interferometer in a Pizza Box, Kit # 9, contains all of the parts to quickly and easily assemble a working interferometer!  This kit also contains a CD with an electronic copy of the printed directions and a sample MS PowerPoint presentation.
