2014 Election of the NCSL International Board of Directors
On January 1, 2014, in accordance with Article 4 of the NCSLI bylaws, the terms of six Vice Presidents will expire, and will need to be filled. This year you will elect six Vice Presidents that will serve for two years. The Nominating Committee has selected the slate of individuals listed below on this sample ballot. This slate has been approved by the Board of Directors. The sample ballot includes biographical sketches for each of the nominees.

Additional nominations for the positions of vice president may be submitted by write-in petition prior to August 1. Each write-in petition requires the signature of ten (10) active NCSLI member delegates, in addition to the requirements of paragraph 4.4 of Article 4. All nominees must meet the requirements of Article 4, paragraph 4.4 of the bylaws, as stated on the nomination petition.
The deadline for receiving nominations is August 1, 2013.

If you have additional nominations to make, send your signed petition to the NCSLI Business Office and mark it to the attention of the Nominating Committee. A blank petition has been included in this package. Nominations may be made using this form or in a letter format.

The official online ballot will go live prior to August 15, 2013

Roger Burton
Sandia National Laboratories
Manager at the Primary Standards Laboratory at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has thirty years of experience in Metrology, specializing in dimensional measurements.

Currently the Chair of the DOE Metrology Committee and has performed technical assessments for NVLAP. Roger previously served as the NCSLI Treasurer, VP of the Central Division (1300), VP of the Southeastern Division (1200), the Kansas City Section Coordinator (1314), and is currently the NCSLI Operations and Marketing VP and a member of the 174 Writing Committee.


Roger and his wife Jane make their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They enjoy being active in their church, hiking, geocaching, and driving and working on their 1964 Corvette Sting Ray.
