Speakers’ Name: Meguel Decos, Ontime Support
Topic: Cost Effective Digital Signature Implementation
Abstract: There is a growing need in today's environment to establish methods that provides the ability to detect any modifications made to electronic records, and offer ways to authenticate the identity of the signer. Not only is this a need for organizations having to comply with regulatory requirements (e.g. 21 C.F.R. 11 - Electronic Records; Electronic Signatures), but also for laboratories wishing to implement a paperless system while ensuring integrity and non-repudiation of the electronic records. The purpose of this working paper to provide information on the methods to generate and verify electronic signatures, hash algorithms used to generate message digests, and how organizations may implement this on various database platforms.
Learning Objectives:

Speakers’ Name: Marty Kidd, Fluke Calibration
Topic: How to Avoid Errors from Thermal EMF
Abstract: This presentation will explain Thermoelectric Voltages (EMFs), what can cause EMFs, and why they are bad for low voltage and low resistance measurements. We will review best measurement practices to minimize EMF errors. Then we will demonstrate some of these methods.
