NCSL International Tennessee Section Meeting (1224)
The spring meeting of the Tennessee section will be held at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The meeting will include presentations on the recent changes to ISO/IEC standard 17025, flow calibrations, dimensional measurements and calibration, electronic/electrical calibrations and anemometer calibration considerations. The meeting will culminate with a tour of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Metrology Lab, including the new large-cross-section wind tunnel facility, Cryo-cooled, programmable Josephson Voltage Standard, cryo-cooled Quantum Hall Resistance Standard. Also, for anyone interested, a visit to the historic Graphite Reactor will be offered. The Graphite Reactor is a National Historic Register site and is the site of the first sustained nuclear reaction in the world (the Chicago Pile was the first criticality but was shut down immediately after criticality was achieved.).
